# Wash the canopy with warm soapy water (mild dish soap is OK)
# Wetsand entire canopy with 600 grit sandpaper (Keeps the dust down)
# Patch all the seams and dents you can find with Red Bumper Putty (Let dry 2 Hrs)
# Wetsand all the places you had to patch with 600 grit sandpaper (Let dry)
# Spray entire canopy with Adhesion Promoter (Let dry 30 min)
# Spray entire canopy with Adhesion Promoter (Let dry 30 min)
# Spray entire canopy with Flexible Primer (Let dry 30 min)
# Spray entire canopy with Flexible Primer (Let dry overnight)
# Wetsand canopy with 400 grit sandpaper (Pressing very lightly, if you hit the adhesion promoter your paint might peal)
# Fill all pinholes with red bumper putty (Let dry 30 min)
# Wetsand canopy with 600 grit sandpaper
# Spray entire canopy with Flexible Primer (Let dry 30 min)
# Spray entire canopy with Flexible Primer (Let dry overnight)
# Wetsand canopy with 600 grit sandpaper (Repeat the last 3 steps until the canopy is smooth, and pinholes are gone)
# Let the canopy dry for 2 to 3 days (Poly bodies only, The paint needs to cure to the body)
# Wipe the canopy down with a wax and grease remover (Glow Super-Klean 1705)
# Wipe the canopy with a tack rag to remove all dust and crap (Detro 1200 Gold)
# Mix and shoot the base color (House of Color BC-26)
# Repeat until canopy is uniform in color (Let dry over night)
# Tape out all the graphics using low tack tape and pin striping tape (3M UPC-051131-06404)
# Mask off everything that you do not plan to paint (Over spray goes everywhere)
# Wipe the canopy with a tack rag to remove all dust and crap (Detro 1200 Gold)
# Spray the color in several light coats not one heavy one (If its too heavy the paint might bleed under the tape)
# Let the paint dry 2 - 4 hours (Repeat the last 5 steps for each color being shot)
# Let the painted canopy dry overnight before applying the clear
# Use the wax remover to spot clean any places that some tape glue left behind (Dont rub too hard this will take the paint off)
# Wipe the canopy with a tack rag to remove all dust and crap (Detro 1200 Gold)
# Spay the clear (if you don't have a paint booth, spay it on a calm day, let dry 24hrs)
# Wetsand the canopy with 1500 grit sandpaper (Lots of water and no elbow grease)
# Wipe the canopy with a tack rag to remove all dust and crap (Detro 1200 Gold)
# Once dry spray another coat of clear (Let dry 24 hrs)
# Repeat the last 3 steps as many times as you like (I do it 3 times, VERY NICE SHINE)
# Wetsand with 2000 grit sandpaper (Lots of water no elbow grease)
# Polish the canopy with a Fine Cut Cleaner (Meguier's No2)
# Polish the canopy with a Glazing Compound (Meguier's No7)
# Polish the canopy with a Swirl Remover (Meguier's No9)
# After 2 weeks the clear can be waxed to remove all the final scuffs (What ever you use on you car will work)
# If you got this far and forgot to drill the holes try not the scream to loud
# Put a piece of tape where you need to drill then poke a small hole with a push pin
#Then slowly drill the correct hole
